How to highlight web pages

Highlighting a web page is only useful if the highlights end up somewhere you will see them again. This guide shows how to mark passages on any page with Kliplet and save just those highlights into Notion, Obsidian, Logseq, Joplin, Anytype, Bear or a Markdown file. Kliplet stores your highlights locally and reapplies them when you revisit the page, so the page itself becomes a durable, marked-up reference — and when you clip, you can send the full article or only the highlighted parts.

Mark highlights on a page

  1. Install Kliplet from kliplet.com.
  2. Select text on the page and mark it as a highlight.
  3. Kliplet stores the highlight locally (IndexedDB) and reapplies it the next time you open that page.

Save your highlights

  1. Trigger Kliplet and choose to save highlights (or the full article with highlights included).
  2. Pick a target — Notion, Obsidian, a Markdown file, etc.
  3. The highlighted passages are written to your notes, with the source link.

Why it sticks

Because highlights are stored on your device, returning to a page shows them again, and clipping turns them into a note — closing the loop between reading and your knowledge base.

Private by default

Highlights live locally; Kliplet ships no analytics, and clips go straight to the tool you chose.

Which tools can highlights be saved into?

Any of Kliplet's seven targets — Notion, Obsidian, Logseq, Joplin, Anytype, Bear or a Markdown file.

Are my highlights private?

Yes. They are stored on your device and never uploaded to Kliplet; the extension ships no analytics.
