How to highlight web pages
This guide shows how to mark passages on any page with Kliplet and find them again later. Alt+H stores each highlight locally and Kliplet reapplies it when you revisit the source page. Highlights are separate from the native simplified-article, full-page, selection, and URL-only clip modes, so they are not sent to a destination automatically. On a paid plan, you can explicitly include them by creating a custom template with {{highlights}}.
Mark highlights on a page
- Install Kliplet from kliplet.com.
- Select text on the page and press Alt+H.
- Kliplet stores the highlight locally in IndexedDB and reapplies it the next time you open that page.
Clip separately when you need a note
Choose simplified article, full page, selection, or URL-only when you save to Notion, Obsidian, Logseq, Joplin, Anytype, Bear on macOS, or Markdown. Existing page highlights are not included by default. A paid user can include them only by explicitly creating a custom template containing {{highlights}}.
Optional cross-device sync
On Pro or Lifetime, highlight records can sync across browsers only after you separately opt in. Without that consent, the highlights remain on this device.
Private by default
Highlights live locally unless you enable paid sync, The Kliplet extension ships no usage analytics, and ordinary destination clips go straight to the tool you chose.

Can I save only the highlighted parts of a page?
There is no native highlights-only clip mode. For one passage, select it and use selection mode. On a paid plan, you can explicitly include the page's stored highlights by creating a custom template with {{highlights}}.
Do my highlights come back when I revisit a page?

Are highlights automatically added to destination clips?
